Meaningful Use – it’s the new buzz word that everyone involved in EHR technology is talking about.  But what is it, and how do you achieve it?  The short answer is that Meaningful Use (MU) is a means to an end in achieving an elevated standard in quality patient care through the adoption of an electronic health record (EHR).

The federal government developed the meaningful use (MU) rule to ensure that health care providers effectively use the tremendous capabilities that a certified EHR system can deliver.  The government’s extensive list of criteria and testing related to MU may seem to be an overwhelming task, but the good news is that PA REACH East is here to help.
